The sky's the limit

The annual Collision Repair Association Conference is kicking off on Thursday the 24th of May and registrations are closing soon. It’s the 94th CRA conference and the speakers and activities are more exciting than ever before. This years conference is held right in the heart of Auckland City at the SkyCity Convention Centre. With it’s modern facilities and adjacent hotels the Convention Centre will be a convenient platform for conference guests to explore the city. Finding the way back will be no problem for guests as the hotels and Convention Centre lay at the feet of Auckland’s landmark Sky Tower.

The conference has a exciting and diverse line up of speakers from around New Zealand and abroad. Stretched over three days guests will be entertained and inspired by speakers from different industries and different experiences.

On MC duty for the conference will be comedy actor and animal lover Clare Kelso. Clare MC’s International Conferences and still finds time to volunteer at Auckland Zoo and the SPCA.

The Keynote speaker is Chris Wall, marketing manager for Akzo Nobel in the Asia Pacific region. Chris has over 25 years experience in automotive refinishing and with knowledge of different cultures can present a global perspective on the industry.

The conferences celebrity guest speaker is Peter Fitzsimons, a popular personality in Australia, an author and a former Wallaby. Peter will bring with him a wealth of experiences and a wide variety of topics to entertain guests with.

Other speakers include:

National party MP Maurice Williamson, well known for his humorous and entertaining speeches on various subjects. As a former Minister of Transport, and current National Party Spokesperson on Transport, Maurice will bring extensive knowledge in this area.

Radio Station guru Larry Summerville is well know locally and internationally as an outstanding broadcaster and radio station manager. Former Chief Executive of More FM Auckland for 13 years Larry has won many broadcasting and workplace awards.

Jason Bartanen from I-CAR will be covering emerging technologies and advanced repair processes. As Technical Development Manager at I-CAR Jason oversees the research and development of training programs and brings sound knowledge of new technologies and training techniques.

International Business consultant Dr Mike Ashby will be sharing his experiences and success strategies in business. Mike is a specialist in change management and as an experienced presenter will provide insights into how business results can be improved in companies of all sizes.

The speaking schedule is sure to prove varied and entertaining but activity is not limited to the conference centre, there will be a broad range of outdoor pursuits to be enjoyed on the Friday afternoon. While guests are busy enjoying the speaking program, recreational activities around Auckland have been organised for their partners.

The CRA Conference brings together automotive repairers from around the country in a relaxed and enjoyable environment, it’s a good chance to further communication and sense of community within the industry.
